The enormity of New York City is something that hits me like a ton of bricks every time I have my feet on the ground there. The sounds- there are so many- never ceasing, not a break in between horns honking and people yelling. The sheer number of things to see can be overwhelming, especially if you are from a smaller place. Although I think every place is smaller than NYC, in every way. This was my first trek to Times Square. Absolutely incredible. I think we could’ve wandered around there all day and not seen the same thing twice. Such magic. I couldn’t resist snapping a picture of my son taking a picture of the Broadway advertisements. I try to see the world as they do, but I know it’s impossible. Worth a try.
My kid is a theater kid, so he knew every billboard, every sign, everything related to the plays and musicals. I couldn’t get over the SIZES. Everything in the city is larger than life. I definitely found my happy place riiiiiiight here at the Hershey store. Uhhhh, yum.
Definitely a spot to stop if you have a sweet tooth (or two, who’s judging, not me). The store is called Hershey Chocolate World, and buddy, that’s exactly what it is!! A world of Hershey’s praise the Lord and Baby Jesus too. You can buy damn near anything related to Hershey’s there- even fresh cookies! I did not require any prodding to get myself through those doors, lemme tell ya. Mmmm. At least I didn’t feel nearly as guilty for scarfing down everything since we had 450 miles left in the day. What an amazing world we live in!! Get out there and see it, guys!! Vacation with your family, with your friends, or take a vacation by yourself. We work hard so we should not feel guilty about playing hard.
Safe travels! xo
